New Profile Rounds Out High-Performance Composite Decking Portfolio

WINCHESTER, Va., July 22, 2013 – Trex Company, the world’s largest manufacturer of high-performance wood-alternative decking and railing, today announced that it will add a new 2”x6” board profile to its entry-level Trex Select® decking and railing system. This new profile is particularly well suited for commercial settings, including boardwalks, docks and marinas.

“Trex Select has received a tremendous reception within the industry for its superior durability and luxurious, long-lasting good looks coupled with an affordable price point,” said Ronald W. Kaplan, chairman, CEO and president of Trex. “This new profile makes it possible for our trade partners to leverage additional commercial application opportunities and provides even greater design flexibility to contractors and their customers.”

The new board profile will be available in four Trex Select colors inspired by nature – Madeira (a redwood look), Saddle (a light brown), Woodland Brown (a deep, earthy shade) and new Pebble Grey (a fresh, light grey with cool undertones). Each color is designed to pair beautifully with the versatile white hue of Trex Select railing. Deck boards are offered in 12’, 16’ and 20’ lengths. Coordinating fascia also is available in 1’x8’ and 1’x12’ sizes.

“With the new 2”x6” board profile, Trex Select offers a full range of deck board options,” said Kaplan. “In addition, Trex now possesses a complete high-performance composite decking portfolio, in which each SKU is wrapped in the signature Trex protective shell technology.”

Trademark Trex Performance
Featuring superior durability, Trex Select stands up to severe weather, heavy foot traffic and everyday mishaps like wet planter pots and spilled food. In fact, Trex Select resists both stains and mold, and guards against fading better than traditional composites, while offering a soft, splinter-free finish that is comfortable underfoot. Unlike wood, the product requires no sanding, staining or painting, and food and beverage spills wash off easily with just soap and water.

Also manufactured of a shelled composite material, Trex Select railing offers a similar level of beauty, performance and ultra-low maintenance. Trex Select railing won't warp, rot or splinter and it will look better and endure longer than wood or all-vinyl railing options.

The entire Trex Select system is backed by a 25-year Limited Residential Warranty, which provides lasting peace-of-mind.
